Making a Local Blog a Tourist Attraction

By | August 26th, 2013|Active Rain, An Agent's Life, Front Page|

I read a great post this morning about repurposing past blog articles.  I've been doing this for some time and the record holder for "Most Recycled Post" goes to "100 Reasons to Call Palos Verdes Home" an article I first published several years ago. More than one prospective buyer called after reading the post.  Naturally, it's very hyper-local and gives an insider's real life experiences of the Palos Verdes lifestyle.  Yes, the Palos Verdes Peninsula is located in Los Angeles County, but life here is nothing like the L.A. lifestyle the media covers.  It's not Hollywood or Malibu. I admit Palos Verdes is a quiet, isolated and very private community, and I, along with many others, like it like that!  More than once I've heard the lament of, "There's nothing to do in Palos Verdes," and that is absolutely not true.  Hey, this is L.A.! We really have it all.  There's the Pacific Ocean with its beaches, surfing and boating opportunities.  There are many wonderful fishing spots plus deep sea charters are available.  The Palos Verdes hills are laced with hiking and horseback riding trails.  There are parks and places to go whale watching. Cyclists love the winding roads and [...]

The Rolling Hills General Store – Palos Verdes

By | August 14th, 2013|Front Page, Lifestyle in Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates|

There are still places in Los Angeles where you can saddle up and shout, "Hey honey, I'm going to the store." At the bridle trail intersection at the corner of PV Drive North & Rolling Hills Road sits the quaint Rolling Hills General Store.  RHGS offers horse feed, tack, bedding, riding clothing, boots, equestrian gifts and more.   Kelly's Corner in the same building sells sandwiches and snacks. The PV Horseman's Association bulletin board hangs on the side of the building and is a great spot to check for local notes on horses for sale, horse boarding, tack for sale and [...]

Income Property in Los Angeles–South Bay

By | August 6th, 2013|Buyer Tip, Front Page, Hermosa Beach, Income Property, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, San Pedro|

I do a quick search each day for a few clients intent on purchasing residential income property in the South Bay of Los Angeles before interest rates creep much higher.  Obviously, their motivation has grown stronger during the past few weeks as rates inch upward. Residential income is scattered throughout the cities of the South Bay area, but some have more income properties than others. Here's a snapshot of income properties available in the South Bay by city: San Pedro:  36 Residential income properties are currently for sale in San Pedro. Palos Verdes: 0 Residential income properties for sale in Palos Verdes. [...]

Palos Verdes Discovered as 2nd Home Paradise via My Blog

Okay, apparently the word is out; Palos Verdes is a fabulous place to have a second home.  In the past, I've sold a few second homes on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, but usually to locals in need of a little cottage by the sea or a condo to stash guests, in-laws, children ready to launch a career and so forth. The trend I'm observing this year varies a tad; the buyers are from Los Angeles County, but from interior locales and desire a home along the coast.  Perhaps I'm pushing it to say "new trend" as year-to-date Norma Toering & [...]

Coastal Living in San Pedro

By | August 1st, 2013|An Agent's Life, Front Page, San Pedro, South Shores|

There's a new listing on the bluffs above the Pacific Ocean in the South Shores neighborhood of San Pedro.  I snapped these photos from the deck at today's open house. The one-level home is listed for $2,800,000 and located on Paseo Del Mar.  Just down the street the homes at The Estates at Trump National are selling in the four million and up price range.  Yes, there's a difference between San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes but it's the same Pacific Ocean coastline views for a lot less money. If you're interested in seeing this spectacular view with your own [...]
