Oops, it happened again.  The number of available Palos Verdes single-family homes for sale dropped below 200. The shrinking supply pushed the market toward an even stronger sellers' market. Similar market trends apply to the Beach Cities real estate market as well.  Low inventory has become our new normal.   As I write this article there are 233 single-family homes for sale on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Inventory continues to show a slight increase, however, demand remains strong thus keeping the overall real estate market tilted slightly in favor of sellers. Luxury Home Sales Soar in California

According to RE-Insider in an article published 8/14/14, the luxury real estate market is outpacing the rest of the California housing market by a wide margin.  "While home sales throughout much of California have remained flat throughout this spring and early summer, a new study has indicated that multimillion dollar homes are selling in record numbers, offering hope that the market is still improving and prompting many to wonder what’s holding the rest of the market back." International Buyers Love Los Angeles

International buyers snapped up $92.2 billion of property in the United States from April 2013  to March 2014.  The number for the previous year was $68.2 according to the National Association of Realtors.  The growth is attributed to better exchange rates, lower real estate prices and increasing affluence of foreign buyers.
