Prospective home sellers always want to make sure they are selling their property “at the right time.” The majority feel the end of the year is probably not the best time. After all, the holidays are upon us, children will be out of school for a couple weeks, plus the weather is not at its most beautiful, even in Southern California.
Based on my personal experience, they are wrong. I woke up to find an offer for a $2M+ property in my email. Another email from an out-of-the country prospective buyer asked my opinion about a $1M+ home. Later this afternoon I’m showing my luxury listing ($5.5M) in Hermosa Beach. Christmas is only a week away, but buyers are shopping for real estate right through the holiday season.
As a seller, now is the perfect time to bring your property on the market. Inventory is low and demand is high. Interest rates are as low as I’ve seen them in my lifetime. It does not really matter what the calendar is telling you; listen to what the market is telling you. Those are not Christmas bells you’re hearing, those are real estate sell bells going off in your head.
